AB 435, Regional Center Whistleblower Protection Bill, to Be Heard in Two Committees Today: Here is a Message from the Assembly Committee on Accountability

AB 435 (Assembly Committee on Accountability & Administrative Review) on regional center whistleblower protection was approved yesterday by the Senate Committee on Human Services by a 3-1 vote.

The bill will be heard tomorrow at 9:30 AM in the Senate Committee on Judiciary in Capitol room 3191.  Assuming it is approved in Judiciary, the bill will then move to the Senate Committee on Appropriations in the afternoon.

In what we can only assume is a logistical glitch, Senate Rules Committee has yet to transmit AB 435 to the Judiciary Committee. (The original bill must be physically delivered to make the referral official.)  The Judiciary Committee has publicly noticed the hearing of this bill “pending receipt” and they indicate they will hear the bill as soon as they get it.
